Party preparations!

Am not quite sure quite where the time has gone, or what I was doing, but all of sudden J is turning 3.
My boys are growing up so fast, and by September nursery will keep J busy and T will make the big move to primary school. It's hard even to remember when they were babies, and they're already telling me they can do everything 'all by myself, mummy'.
I can tell you though, I much prefer busying myself with the rough and tumble of the lives of a 3 and 4 year old than stressing about feeding and sleeping routines I became super-stressed about when they were so little. It makes me a little sad to think I didn't really enjoy those first few months of being a mum, I really felt I had no idea what I was doing, and it seemed everyone else was doing a sterling job - apart from me!
So armed with my best cake-baking/room decorating/biscuit icing skills to date, I wait in anticipation for J and 4 of his friends to P-A-R-T-Y! Wish me luck x

Sunny Memories...

Ok, so by now you may have worked out that I'm obsessed with sunny weather, so I thought with all this rain we've been having I'd peek back to our holiday snaps from Wales (only 3 weeks ago - but seems like an eternity!).
You know that week where Britain bathed in mega-high temperatures? Well, for once we were lucky and had chosen, way back in January, to go on holiday that very week. Hoorah!

(This goes some way to explaining my sun obsession - when you've experienced a week in Wales with weather such as this then you don't want it to end!)

Expecting wind, rain and 'cool' we were armed with fleece, waterproofs, wellies and gloves. Fortunately at the last minute I threw in a pair of shorts each and some suncream. I didn't think we'd need to use them!

If you've never experienced the truly beautiful coastline and countryside in West Wales, I would recommend it 100%. Ok, so a bit of sun always improves a holiday, but *wow* this place is hard to beat. Castles galore, hidden sandy coves, beach caves and waterfalls, peace and quiet.

So it was with sadness when I saw the pictures of the massive floods that hit this part of Wales earlier this week. Here's to a *real* wish for sunnier weather and less rain, so the clear-up can begin and the residents of this region can once again enjoy their wonderful surroundings x

Friday find...

THIS is EXACTLY what I feel like doing today!! (Or as my husband includes - every day that it continues to pour down!)

Here's to a sunnier weekend for us all! x

Our weekend...

Hope everyone had a great weekend (long for us here in the UK due to all the Jubilee madness) whether you were relaxing, playing, celebrating or DIYing!

Although we're not 'big on royal' (!) in our house, we took the opportunity to enjoy a few days out from the usual routine and enjoyed some good old fashioned quality time together.

The bunting went up (as promised, a mix of freebie designer download and freebie J nursery).
The tin foil was used in copious quantities for our diy kingly crowns.
Red, White and.... Rose were shared with great friends.
An impromtu street party happened on our doorstep when the sun finally showed its face!
And balloon chasing became the 'in' game when the tennis got boring.

We've now got half term to carry on the holiday spirit, although I think we're all running out of energy and will need another holiday once we get back to normal!
Hope those of you who are in a similar situation enjoy the last few sunny (fingers crossed) days before we hit back to the rat race that is..the school run. x
